Yacht Rock Meets Vintage Disco (Yes, Really)
Keelie and Brad’s wedding wasn’t just an event—it was a full-blown, disco-glam, vintage-rock love fest with a dash of kitsch and their signature style! From meeting at University of Dayton’s law school and bartending together to sharing a three-legged fur baby, these two have an effortlessly cool love story that deserved an epic celebration. So, how did they pull it off? By throwing out the rulebook and making the day all about them.
These two tied the knot officially in St. Petersburg, Florida in a fun celebration followed by closing down Mullet’s Fish Camp Bar. (Complete with everyone rocking mullets into the night)
A few weeks later – Keelie and Brad celebrated with a reception back home. (Hello, downtown Dayton!) Forget the tradition of hiding from each other before the big moment—they wanted every second together! They kicked off their day with getting ready together followed by a day date. With their photographer by their side, they enjoyed craft beers at Dayton Beer Company, capturing candid moments. And honestly, we wish more couples we do fun things like this! Spending the whole day apart from your person can be a bummer. Throwing tradition out the window and enjoying all the pieces of your day is way more enticing.
When we first started planning with Keelie, she had a unique vision for their party – yacht rock meets vintage disco. Velvet table clothes created texture in fun colors (plum and rust orange) with disco balls, candles, vintage inspired goblets, a unique audio guestbook and (the most important piece of decor inspiration) their 3 legged dog.
No first look, no waiting to see each other. And we loved that. We know, it’s tradition to wait to see your person as you walk down the aisle. It’s a beautiful, raw, emotional moment. But it also does mean you spend a big part of the day without your person. So when Keelie and Brad told us about their plan to have a day date, we were ecstatic. After spending the morning getting ready together, they ventured out in downtown Dayton dressed in their wedding best. In a fun twist, Brit Jaye Photography played third wheel and captured moments along the way with the couple. Dayton Beer Company’s patio offers skyline views of downtown while enjoying local craft beers.
Three legs, but all the love. If you have ever been to the Brightside, you know they are dog people. Keelie and Brad’s sweet pup, Ace, was a big part of the day. Not only was he included in the chalk wall in the reception area, but he was able to come and enjoy the day. Kicking it off with family pictures with Brad and Keelie, he was the best boy ever. Later he joined the couple for the reception.. [INSERT ABOUT PERSON WHO TAKE CARE OF HIM]
